Citation Manager is a Chrome extension that helps you manage local business citations by auto-filling NAP data, tracking which directories you've completed, and optionally generating business descriptions.
We do not run a server for your business data. Your profiles and citation history are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us. The only network requests the extension makes are the two described below, and both are things you trigger.
Using Chrome's storage API, on your device only:
None of this is transmitted to us. You can edit or delete any of it from inside the extension at any time, and removing the extension removes it entirely.
The extension makes network requests in exactly two situations:
If you enter your own OpenAI API key and click Generate Description, the extension sends the relevant business profile fields and your prompt directly from the extension to OpenAI's API using your key. We never see the request, and we never use your key for anything else. Your use of OpenAI is governed by OpenAI's privacy policy. If you don't enter a key, this never happens and every other feature still works.
Citation Manager Pro is billed through ExtensionPay, which processes payments via Stripe. When you subscribe, the extension asks ExtensionPay whether your subscription is active, and receives back your subscription status and the email address you used to pay. That email is shown in the extension so you can confirm which account is unlocked, and is stored locally in your browser.
We never see your card details. Payment happens on Stripe's checkout page. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy for how those services handle your data. If you don't subscribe, no subscription check is ever made.
No analytics, no tracking, no browsing history, and no page content. The extension contains no analytics library of any kind.
The one piece of personal information that reaches the extension is the email address associated with a Pro subscription, described above, and it comes from your payment provider rather than being collected by us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your business profile data, your citation history, or your API key. Data is shared only as strictly necessary to:
Your data staying on your device is the main protection here — there is no central database of Citation Manager users to breach. We take reasonable measures with what we do handle, but no system is completely secure. You remain responsible for keeping your browser and device secure, and for protecting your OpenAI API key.
We may update this policy. When we do, the "Last updated" date above changes and any new network requests or data handling will be documented here.
