automatically sent to our servers.
When you request an AI-generated description, the extension sends relevant business profile data and your prompt to the OpenAI API using the API key you have provided. The request is made directly from the extension/background script to OpenAI.
Citation Manager does not use your API key for any purpose other than generating descriptions on your behalf. Your use of OpenAI is also governed by OpenAI’s own terms and privacy policy.
The website at citationmanager.app may use basic, privacy-friendly analytics (for example, privacy-focused tools that do not use cookies or store IP addresses long term) to understand aggregated usage, such as page views and referrers. No analytics data is linked to your extension data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your business profile data or API key. We do not share extension data with third parties except as necessary to:
We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by the extension, but no system can be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your devices and browser secure and for protecting your OpenAI API key.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
